This is my favorite photograph from our wedding. Look at those crazy kids!
Taking a romantic stroll in the alley behind someone’s apartment building! Blissing out beside the dumpsters! Oblivious to the wonky dinosaur graffiti! It was July 29, 2007, three years ago today, and we were on our way to get married. We had no idea what we might do with ourselves, or who we might become, but we had decided to do it, and become it, together. We still have no idea, and I like that. I wonder what the future will bring. I hope it involves Brandon making his Serious Face, because I’m quite fond of it.
Today is also the sixth birthday of this blog. Six. That blows my mind. Thank you for being here, whether you’ve been reading for one day, or one month, or from the beginning. I write this site because of you, and there’s no better reason. Here’s to you, and here’s to six!

I've been following your blog for years and love your recipes even though only a select few were successful for me. You've introduced me to Meyer lemons (which are suspiciously not available in Atlantic Canada--I asked) and many other things. When your book came out I was ecstatic. I devoured it in less than 4 days. Ever since then I've been on the hunt for the perfect pain au chocolat. You've inspired me to want to discover more about France and my first language because of that.
Thank *you* for what you do and happy anniversaries. Your father would be so proud.

Happy anniversary. My wife and I celebrated our 17th anniversary on July 17th. Her father's lucky number was 17 so it was special for us. Marrying Mimi was the smartest thing I ever did. I hope you are as happy as we are 14 years from now.

Wonderful pictures. Last night my husband and I cracked open a bottle of wine that has signatures from our wedding guests. We used wine bottles as a sort of guest book. When we originally got married we thought, "We'll drink these on special occasions." But last night, as we were listening to James Taylor on vinyl and digging through our wedding pictures to pick some out for an album, we both decided that we got married for nights like these, not special ocassion nights, and last night was as good as any night we'll ever have together.

As I approach my 20th wedding anniversary in September I savor looking back at the morphs and changes of our lives and where we've come. It's been a fabulous ride. You are obviously enjoying these first three years. My husband gave me your book for Mother's Day this year and we now have some Molly-isms in our lives. We are in love with your pancakes, and we named one of our lambs Berg. I hope your dad doesn't mind!

Congrats on the very significant laps around the big ball of fire, and best wishes for many more trips. That's half-a-trillion miles at 60k mph, by the way, so it's a fairly big deal. Amazing that we don't spin off into deep outer space. But we don't, and we should celebrate each and every lap. Cheers!

There's something wonderfully universal about that wedding photo. You are so "bride" and he is so "groom," in your expressions, poses, colors, everything! I like the idea of a young couple in love, making their way through the mundane grunge of the world, but with kind of this bubble of specialness around them. Congratulations!!!

I have an enormous bowl of fairly fresh picked tomatoes crying out to be roasted, and I really want to use a recipe that you put in Bon Apetit maybe a couple of years ago. Trouble is, I can't find that magazine. Do you know the one I'm talking about? You recommended putting the tomato roasted goodness on a baguette with some fabulous goat cheese... Thank you for 6 years of true inspiration. I hope your blog (and your marriage, for that matter) will continue to give you years of bliss. If it wasn't for you, I never would have made a madeleine, or cooked brussel sprouts with cream, or added crystallized ginger to my banana bread, if you can imagine that. Congrats!
OK, so I finished reading your book the week we were camping on Whidby. Couldn't wait to try some of your recipes, but there is only so much you can do in a 5th wheel rv. Got back to Spokane Saturday and the first thing to try was the slow roasted tomatoes. Other than a mouthful of tomato, I've chopped them up and had w/ fresh basil and Parm on penne. Mouthwatering! Today I made Ed's soup. Will use for company tomorrow w/ salad and popovers. I tested it for happy hr. today--might lessen the salt next time. Loved it.

ginger ale eh? Sounds worth a try. I like it best with a mix of apple juice and lemonade, and with some cucumber, mint, apple slices and strawberries. It is the perfect English summer drink in my humble opinion.
